Why the 120 FPS option isn't showing - and how to fix it
Short answer: check these four first - the wrong game region selected in your GFX tool, a Shizuku bridge that dropped after a reboot, a game update that reset the configuration, or a display that simply isn't 120 Hz. Those four account for the large majority of cases.
Start by deciding which problem you have
There are only two real possibilities, and they lead in opposite directions:
- Your phone can't do it. A 60 Hz panel cannot display 120 frames per second. No tool, setting, or APK changes the physics of the display. If this is your situation, stop troubleshooting and optimise for a stable 60 instead.
- Your phone can, but the game won't let it. The panel does 120 Hz, the chipset has headroom, and the game still caps you - because your model isn't on its internal allow-list. This is fixable, and it's what the rest of this page is about.
Check which one you're in before anything else: how to confirm your display's refresh rate.
The nine causes, in the order worth checking
1. The wrong game version is selected
This is the number one cause by a wide margin. A GFX tool writes configuration for a specific package name, and the Global, Korean, Indian and Taiwan builds are all different packages. Select Indian for BGMI and Global for PUBG Mobile. Pick the wrong one and the tool cheerfully reports success while writing to a package that isn't installed.
2. You unlocked but never selected the setting in-game
The tool exposes the option; it doesn't choose it. Open the game, go to Settings → Graphics, and set Frame Rate to Ultra Extreme. If Ultra Extreme is visible, the unlock worked and this was the whole problem.
3. The Shizuku bridge is down
If the header doesn't read ACTIVE, nothing was written at all. Shizuku's service ends on every reboot. Work through the Shizuku connection guide and re-apply afterwards.
4. The game updated
Game patches rewrite configuration files, wiping the unlock. Re-apply it first. If the option still doesn't appear, the tool itself needs an update to match the new version - several Play reviewers note this can take a couple of weeks after a major release, which is a genuine limitation of every tool in this category, not just one.
5. You changed a graphics setting after applying a profile
This one catches people out. Multiple reviewers report that editing settings by hand after applying a GFX profile disables the frame-rate change. Apply the profile, then leave the graphics menu alone. If you want different settings, apply a different profile instead.
6. Battery saver is capping your refresh rate
Most Android skins drop the panel to 60 Hz under a power-saving mode or below a battery threshold, and some do it when the device gets warm. Your game will obediently follow. Check your phone's own display settings and confirm the refresh rate isn't set to a fixed 60 or to "Standard".
7. Thermal throttling
If 120 FPS works for the first few minutes and then everything feels like 60 again, that's heat. The chipset is reducing clocks to protect itself. Drop to a lighter graphics tier, take the case off, or target 90 FPS instead.
8. Your device isn't on the game's list
If everything above checks out and Ultra Extreme still isn't there, your model may simply not be whitelisted for your client and region. Our community-reported list of 120 FPS supported devices gives you a sense of where your phone sits, though your own graphics menu is the only real proof.
9. The device is genuinely not capable
Some phones have a 120 Hz panel but a chipset that can't sustain 120 FPS in a battle-royale. The option appears, you select it, and you get 70–80 in practice. That's not a fault - it's the ceiling versus the average. A locked 90 will feel better than a 120 that keeps collapsing.
A quick diagnostic order
Run through these five checks and you'll have isolated the cause in a couple of minutes:
- Does the device card show 120Hz? No → it's a hardware limit, stop here.
- Does the header show ACTIVE? No → fix Shizuku.
- Is the right region highlighted? No → change it and re-apply.
- Does the game show Ultra Extreme in the Frame Rate row? Yes → select it, you're done.
- Did the game update recently? Yes → re-apply; if it still fails, wait for a tool update.
Common mistakes while troubleshooting
- Reinstalling the tool repeatedly. It almost never helps, and it loses your settings. The causes above are the real ones.
- Downloading a "fixed" APK from a mirror. This is how people end up with adware. If a tool doesn't support the current game version yet, no mirror changes that.
- Applying the unlock while the game runs in the background. The game can rewrite its config on exit and undo you. Close it fully first.
- Assuming a higher graphics tier is free. Ultra HDR plus 120 FPS throttles almost any phone.
How the app helps you narrow this down
Most of the diagnosis above is guesswork without information, which is where 90 FPS + 120 FPS is genuinely useful: its home screen shows the Shizuku bridge status, your detected model and Android version, and your panel's actual refresh rate - the three facts that separate "my phone can't" from "my game won't". The Booster tab adds live RAM, CPU and ping, so you can also tell a frame-rate problem from a network problem.

Frequently asked questions
Why does it say applied successfully but nothing changed?
Almost always the wrong game region. The tool confirms it wrote the configuration; it can't know you meant a different build. Check that Indian is selected for BGMI or Global for PUBG Mobile, then re-apply.
The option was there yesterday and is gone today. What happened?
Either the game updated and reset its configuration, or your phone rebooted and Shizuku stopped so a later re-apply silently failed. Check the Shizuku badge first.
Why does 120 FPS work for five minutes and then stop?
Thermal throttling. The chipset lowers clocks as it heats up. Use a lighter graphics tier or target 90 FPS, which most phones sustain far more comfortably.
I see Ultra Extreme but the game still feels like 60.
Check your phone's display settings for a fixed 60 Hz or Standard refresh mode, and make sure battery saver is off. The system cap overrides whatever the game requests.
Should I reinstall the app?
Rarely worth it. None of the nine causes above are fixed by reinstalling, and you lose your configuration. Work through the checks in order instead.
